Live With a Family in Istanbul and Teach Them English

Program Description

Live With a Family in Istanbul and Teach Them English

Description

GeoVisions' Conversation Corps provides English conversationalists a chance to live with a Turkish family and teach them English. Because of the close proximity of the "students" this will be an amazing adventure of living in your teaching environment. This is a high-energy position. The parents have been working all day and the children have been in school but you still need to come up with fun and enthusiastic ways to teach them English. We provide the materials; you provide the personality to liven up a family class or dinner conversation!

This is also a great program for people who want to experience life in Turkey and the Turkish culture in-depth. The program has a focus on cultural exchange and host families are not only excited to learn English but also love to share the characteristics of their country, culture and cuisine.

Conversation Corps volunteers receive instruction on how to teach English, with specific activities for teaching English in a home to a family. GeoVisions includes an orientation in Istanbul. Transportation to the host family is also included.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

* Teaching the host family English for at least 15 hours a week Monday to Friday
* Come up with creative, fun and informative lesson plans
* Keep your room tidy and clean
* Respect host family's rules and habits
* Manage your own personal expenses (telephone bills, clothing, entertainment and spending money)
* Helping children with their English homework
* Play games in English with the children
* Create and teach educational games and activities

All GeoVisions programs include accommodation. Most include meals, airport pick-up, project training, in-country support, extensive medical and accident insurance, extensive pre-departure information and onsite project orientation.
