Paid Teaching in Japan
Description
Teaching English in Japan consists of teaching English, lesson preparations, curriculum design, preparing assessments/tests, etc. Most participants teach within public schools within junior high and elementary schools often teaching at a combination of the two. The junior high students usually range in ages between 12-15 years of age; elementary students between 6-11 years of age. There are a limited number of high school positions with students ranging in ages between 15-18 years of age. Most English-teachers work between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. In addition, some teachers may be required to attend special events sometimes occurring on weekends.

Qualifications
- Be a native English-speaker of an English-speaking country
- Hold a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
- TESOL or TEFL Certificates, Education Degrees, or Teaching Experience is preferred (but not required)
- Be fluent and proficient in the English language's grammar and structure and be able to communicate fluently and competently with clear and distinct pronunciation and manners.
- Be available to attend an interview in a designated city
- Be professional in all aspects of behavior
- Be a team-player, flexible, cheerful and energetic
- Must also have the ability and willingness to adapt to Japanese culture
