Program Description

Summer Teaching Position in Florence

Description

We are writing to announce an opening for a summer teaching position with our July 2010 program in Florence, Italy. We are searching for an Academic Coordinator for our Art History course offered for American and international high school students. The dates of the program are June 24 to July 23, 2010.

It is a wonderful opportunity for a serious Art History educator who possesses strong academic and teaching credentials and a genuine interest in working with teenage students. Please forward this announcement to your colleagues who may be qualified and interested in this opportunity. The Art History course is four weeks in duration and designed to be highly interactive and hands-on -- taking place entirely out of the classroom, in the many museums, churches, gardens, studios and piazzas of Florence. The position is best suited to someone with a strong background in Renaissance art and architecture, someone very familiar with the cultural offerings of Florence.

The Academic Coordinator will live with other program staff members in a private apartment in Florence, in the same residence as our students, in the historic center. The Academic Coordinator will also share in the general responsibilities expected of all staff members such as supervision, leading execution of general programming and excursions, and participation in the culinary component of the program. The compensation includes airfare, transportation, housing, meals, other necessary expenses as well as a bonus. The amount of bonus is determined primarily by level of qualifications and experience. For those interested in applying, please email your resume/CV with your availability for a phone interview.
