Teaching in Brazil
Description
This programme is a great opportunity to learn or improve your Portuguese, meet new people and experience an amazing culture while studying, living and teaching languages in Brazil. It is a practical programme where the student will get training in teaching. This placement is a fantastic chance to experience the Latin American culture, gain important qualifications as well as valuable work and travel experience in one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
Participants will be teaching languages to a host family.
For the duration of the placement you will be expected to teach languages to the family and take part in the family's activities. During the participation in the program, each candidate must follow all program rules according to the orientation provided by the local coordinator. Participants will have the objective of coaching a member(s) of the family in the participant's native language estabilishing a regular class schedule.
The Coach is expected to tutor the host family in conversational English:
* upto 15 hours per week
* 5 - 6 days per week
* Schedule to be determined by the host family's needs
The local coordinator will interfere with your teaching plans, however you must be responsible for and complete your obligations as a language coach. This is also an excellent opportunity for the participant to learn Portuguese with the host family.
Highlights
There are two types of programmes depending on your aspirations:
* Find an Internship: We will find you a job placement that meets both the company and your expectations.
* Do It Yourself: If you find a vacancy yourself we can help you get your visa. Don't worry about it and let it to us.
Qualifications
We are looking for tutors whose native languages are: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian.
The applicant must be fluent English speaker between 18 and 35 years old. You must be a college student or a graduate but most importantly be an enthusiastic individual and willing to share and learn from experience!
Being able to speak Portuguese to some level would be a great help but is by no means a prerequisite as many of the staff speak English.
